Group Fitness
Small Group Training
Nobody is born knowing proper exercise techniques. Learning how to do it right will empower you to get the most out of your workouts and avoid injury. Our Fitness Workshops help you master exercise moves developing your knowledge while you get a great workout in a fun environment.
Registration is required to take part in these classes. These programs are 6-10 weeks in length and participants are expected to attend the majority of the classes. Since spots are limited, please make sure you can attend before registering.

Nutrition
The best way to ensure plenty of energy for exercise or activities of daily living is to eat a nutritious, balanced diet. We offer individual consultations with a registered dietician, small group sessions focusing on specific nutritional topics, lunch & learns and more!

UVA Rec partners with Hoos Well and other University initiatives to support the well being of the University Community. Our partnerships range from free fitness programs to in depth advising.
Aquatics
Swimming is one of the best activities you can do for your body. The low-impact resistance builds muscles and burns fat without damaging your joints. Your lungs become more efficient at transferring oxygen and you build your endurance, so no more getting winded walking up stairs.
