Madison Bowl Field (Mad Bowl) | Map
Mad Bowl is currently closed for scheduled turf and sprinkler maintenance. This essential work is needed to keep the field in top shape for fall, especially for our club sports that rely on it for practice and competition. Thanks for your patience as we prepare for the new semester!
Mad Bowl is a three acre natural grass field behind Madison Hall that was renovated in 2005 to provide a Bermuda grass surface with irrigation and drainage. Field open daily from dawn until dusk.
Often called "Mad Bowl," this field was one of the University's original playing fields and became famous for Easter celebrations of the 1960s and '70s.
Parking is available at the Culbreth Parking Garage.
Perry-Fishburne Tennis Courts (Emmet St) | Map
Perry-Fishburne offers four tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts adjacent to Ruffner Hall. Courts open daily from dawn to dusk.
In 2001, these tennis courts, located in the area known as the Dell, took on a name that honors two separate contributions intended to help the University build tennis courts: one from Charlottesville's Perry Foundation, established by Hunter Perry, and the other from alumnus Junius Fishburne
Parking is available along University Avenue as well as at the Culbreth Garage or Central Ground Parking Garage.
