Renovation Project Timeline & Scope
Memorial Gymnasium closed on Friday, December 6 to begin preparations for construction.
Construction began in January 2025 with anticipated substantial completion date of Fall 2026.
Renovations include updates to central plumbing, heating, air conditioning, gymnasium lighting, enhanced academic classrooms, ADA and single-use restrooms, sauna replacement, fitness room improvements and a new welcome desk. Read the complete renovation overview.

Recreation Accommodations
Outdoor venues (Snyder Tennis Courts, Nameless Sand Volleyball Courts, Nameless Field, Outdoor Basketball Courts, Carr’s Hill Field) remain open during renovations.
Outdoor equipment lending will be available at Lady Astor Pavilion throughout renovations during open hours.
Fall & Spring Academic Hours
- Monday-Thursday 8am-12mid
- Friday 8am-10pm
- Saturday 9am-10pm
- Sunday 9am-12mid
Summer Hours
- Sunday-Saturday 12noon-10pm
Combative Room equipment relocated to Slaughter Recreation Center racquetball corridor.
Selectorized Fitness equipment re-allocated at Slaughter Recreation Center racquetball corridor.
Expanded open hours at Slaughter Recreation Center with 8am opening on weekdays, 9am opening on weekends and midnight closures Sunday-Thursday.
The multipurpose room sprung dance floor relocated to The Forum at O-Hill.
